guest room remodel july 2005
We'd put off doing anything with this room since we purchased our house, but finally decided to give it an overhaul with a "cottage" theme.
We found the hardwood floor was in good shape under the wall to wall carpet so we yanked it and added a nice burber area rug instead.
That's a sewing machine masquerading as a side table.
The bed was a dark brown cheap, ugly stained finish. We sanded it, painted it white, then sanded it w/ a palm sander to give it that shabby chic look that feels "cottagy."
Now our "spacious" 7'x10' room isn't any larger, but it has a calm relaxing vibe to it. It turned out very much like we'd hoped.
