No books in recent years have helped mold, enlighten & encourage me in my relationship with Christ than these books. If you were to read these 3 books in this order, you would have a great concept of what the life of a Christ follower is and what it is not.

John Eldredge does not write in a "churchy," stiff or dry style. You feel like someone you know is writing about their experiences. One of the things I love is although his writing style is not churchy, it captures Scripture, biblical truth & doctrine in an edgy and captivating way. And he attaches God's Truth to the aches, longings & questions of our soul.

Sacred Romance
One of the best books on understanding the "big picture" concept of Christianity and how you and I fit into it. Start with this book.

Wild at Heart
Every man should read this book, period. Christ follower or not, this book goes into what it is to be a son, a man and a father like no book I've ever read. This could even be a great read for a seeker to read and build a lot of credibility for Christianity. The idea of a man becoming a Christian is a concept that can feel very immasculating for guys. This book makes the biblical case that God wants men to be real men, not "safe" domesticated versions of a man. Every believer man MUST read it. You will understand your masculinity in a biblical way that will surprise--maybe even shock you. One of the best books I've ever read. A great read for women to give crucial insight to their husbands.

Waking the Dead
(Must confess, not done with this yet.) This tackles the concept that after many of us become Christ followers, we don't truly change a whole lot. Sure, we do things differently, but our excitement for life doesn't change much----and the truth is we all want to be excited about life...but how? That's what this great book is all about...how to really live life after we come into a relationship with Christ.
